Wooden designer raised garden bed with internal container, 76x43,6x24cm

The raised bed is made of solid spruce in a natural finish, with no surface treatment. Spruce is a traditional construction timber in the Czech Republic — it is sufficiently strong, light to handle and has a characteristic pale colour. The wood keeps its natural scent and texture, and you can treat it with wood stain, oil or wax at any time to suit your taste.

The bed arrives flat-packed together with all the screws you need. You can assemble it yourself with an ordinary cordless screwdriver in 5 to 10 minutes. The 40-litre plastic inner container is included and simply drops inside once the frame is assembled. The construction is intuitive — the parts fit together just as they should.

Untreated spruce lasts outdoors for roughly 2 to 3 seasons, depending on the climate and location. For maximum durability, we recommend treating the bed with an exterior wood stain — once before first use, then renewing it every 2 to 3 years. The stain protects the wood against moisture, mould and UV light, and gives all the pieces in a set a uniform colour.

The 40-litre liner, roughly 24 cm deep, holds enough compost for growing herbs (basil, mint, chives), lettuces, strawberries and radishes, as well as fruiting plants such as tomatoes, peppers or cucumbers. The depth is also enough for shallow-rooted flowers — petunias, trailing petunias (Surfinia) and geraniums. The plastic stops soil from washing out and makes watering easier.

Yes, the raised beds in this range are designed for stacking. You can combine this model (code 51607-00) with the version without an inner container (code 51609-00) or with the taller version (code 50694-00) and build a bed of any height you like. Stacking also works with the plastic liner inside — the container sits in the top unit and the lower parts form the base.

The 76 × 43.6 × 24 cm size is ideal for balconies, terraces and smaller gardens. The bed takes up no more than half a metre in depth and fits along a railing or against a wall. At 5.4 kg without soil, any balcony can easily take its weight. Once filled with compost, the bed is stable and stays put, so you don't need to worry about the wind.
