The symbolism of the cross and its influence on your home
Before Jesus was crucified on the cross, the cross had a long pre-Christian history. Although today we regard it as a symbol of Christianity, many thousands of years ago the first Christians supposedly regarded it as a symbol of shame and disgrace. But then Jesus rose from the dead, and the cross took on the meaning of victory, redemption, life, and joy.
Cross for the house and as a pendant
Crosses are nowadays very often used as jewellery providing a certain pose. They are modern, in demand, and a very nice decoration that fits any home, Christian or not. In the previous regime, the cross was even a symbol of defiance against the totalitarian regime that tried to suppress spiritual expression.
Today you can boldly place the cross above the door from the hallway to the kitchen or living room, but also anywhere in the kitchen or bedroom. Wooden crosses will stand out on shelves and cabinets, as well as in the bedroom on a chest of drawers or in the entrance hall. If you believe in the symbolism, a wooden cross can protect you and ensure your family a happy life filled with love.
You can choose elegant wooden crosses in simple solid wood, carved or folded. The crosses with the motif of the nativity scene are also interesting. You can use the wooden cross candle holder during storms, when a loved one dies, during prayers or just when you want to feel better.
