The wooden raised bed with liner is made of solid spruce in a natural finish, with no coloured coatings. Spruce is a wood commonly used outdoors in the garden — it is light, easy to work and has a characteristic pale grain. For a longer life outdoors, we recommend applying an eco-friendly oil or wood stain once a year to protect the wood from moisture and UV light. The plastic liner inside also keeps the inner walls of the wood from direct contact with damp soil.

The outer dimensions of the raised bed are 76 × 43.6 × 31 cm. The plastic inner liner holds 60 litres. That covers typical growing needs for a herb garden, a few lettuces, strawberries or lower ornamental plants. The empty bed weighs 7.2 kg. When fully filled with soil, expect a weight of roughly 60–80 kg depending on the type of compost — important mainly when placing it on a balcony, so check its load capacity first.

The plastic liner does not come with drainage holes as standard. Most customers easily drill them at home — all you need is a hand drill and a 3–5 mm drill bit for plastic. For normal care, we recommend 4–6 drainage holes evenly spaced across the bottom. Without holes, water more carefully so the roots are not left standing in water. Alternatively, add a 2–3 cm drainage layer of expanded clay or gravel to the bottom.

Yes, the raised beds are designed for stacking — thanks to their identical dimensions and sturdy construction, you can stack them to create a taller growing container. This is handy for deeper-rooted plants such as tomatoes, peppers or some herbs. Stacking also gives you a more comfortable working height, so you don't have to bend down when tending your plants. For a stacked set, simply order a second unit of the same model.

Yes, the raised bed is suitable for all of these — balcony, terrace, front garden and a regular garden. Its 76 × 43.6 cm footprint takes up very little space, and at 7.2 kg it is easy to move before you fill it with soil. For a balcony, check the load capacity in advance — a filled bed weighs around 60–80 kg. In the garden it works best on a level surface, paving or decking; if placing it directly on soil, we recommend putting something underneath so the bottom edge does not get unnecessarily damp.

The raised bed handles all three. Herbs such as basil, mint, chives, thyme or rosemary need little space, and the 60-litre liner holds plenty of them. For vegetables, lettuces, radishes, strawberries, spring onions or smaller tomatoes work well. Among flowers, petunias, trailing petunias (Surfinia), geraniums and lower-growing annuals have proven popular. Plant deep-rooted varieties such as carrots or taller tomatoes in a stacked set of two units instead.

In the box you will find solid spruce wooden parts with pre-drilled holes and a set of fixings. One person can assemble it in 15–20 minutes with an ordinary screwdriver or cordless drill — thanks to the pre-drilled holes, there is no need to measure or drill.
