Wooden angel with insert - heart, solid wood, height 10 cm

In folk tradition, an angel is a symbol of protection and quiet companionship, while a heart stands for love, gratitude and emotional bonds. Combining both motifs — an angel figure with cut-out hearts — is therefore seen as a tangible wish of protection for someone close to you. As a decoration it carries a message that is understood across generations and needs no explanation. It is often bought for the birth of a child, an anniversary or for elderly parents.

The angel's body is made from solid beech wood, and the heart-shaped inlay is cut from poplar plywood. Beech is one of the hardest Czech woods and has a characteristic fine grain with a pinkish tinge. The surface is treated with natural oil, which brings out the grain and protects the wood against moisture. No stain, no varnish — the natural surface stays pleasant to the touch.

The angel is 11 cm high, 8.3 cm wide and 1.5 cm thick. It is therefore a small, intimate decoration rather than a large centrepiece for the room — some customers mention in reviews that it is smaller than they expected from the photo, although the dimensions match the description. We therefore recommend roughly measuring out the dimensions on a shelf or chest of drawers before ordering. If you are looking for a more striking piece, the Angels category also includes 17–22 cm versions and larger standing angels on a base.

The angel is a small free-standing decoration without a base that you can place on any flat surface — a bookcase, windowsill, chest of drawers, shelf, bedside table or cabinet top. Thanks to its 1.5 cm thickness it stands steadily on its own, without support. Indoors it looks best against a light background, where the cut-out hearts stand out. It is not suitable for outdoor use — wood finished with natural oil does not tolerate rain or damp.

It suits anyone you want to send a quiet message of „I'm thinking of you" — grandparents, parents, a goddaughter, a friend going through a difficult time, a colleague at the office. In terms of price we place it among affordable yet honest handcrafted gifts, not mass-produced imported machine-made goods. We also recommend it as a thank-you for a teacher, a companion gift to a birthday card or a gesture for a wedding anniversary. Your purchase also supports jobs for people with disabilities.

Yes. This angel is part of a series of four little angels of the same 10 cm height and price, which differ only in the motif of the cut-out inlay. Besides the heart motif, you can choose an angel with an ornament, a nativity scene or candles. You will find the complete selection in the Wooden Angels category, which also includes larger standing versions with wings, angels with a flute and angels on a base.

Yes, AMADEA products can be seen in six bricks-and-mortar shops: four are in Prague (Melantrichova 6, Zlatá ulička 23 at Prague Castle, Železná 10 and Mostecká 40/26 in Malá Strana) and two in Český Krumlov (Latrán 1 by the wooden bridge and Široká 78). We recommend checking availability of a specific piece from this range by phone in advance — the selection may vary between shops.

The angel is finished only with natural oil, which deserves refreshing now and then — simply wipe it lightly with a dry or slightly damp cloth and, about once a year, go over it with a drop of food-safe oil (walnut, linseed). Avoid direct sunlight, moisture and proximity to radiators, and never put the angel in the dishwasher or in water. With gentle handling it will last for decades without any change in colour or shape.
